USE: Omega-6 fatty acids are a necessary component of a healthy diet. Since your body is unable to naturally produce these compounds, it is essential that you acquire them through healthy foods. Omega-6 helps to promote hair growth, support skin health, improve nerve and vascular function, lower Cholesterol, reduce stress and acts as a natural antioxidant. Too much omega-6, however, can exacerbate inflammation, so it is important to consume a proper balance of Omega 6 to Omega 3.
SOURCE: Omega-6 fatty acids are primarily found in vegetable oils, including corn, sunflower, safflower and soy oils. Seeds and nuts also contain good amounts.
